Florida, frogs, and finding hosts
Big fans of Harvest Hosts. The app is super easy to use. The map view makes picking a spot a breeze. Contacting hosts is simple too. Most of them get back pretty fast. But sometimes we’ve run into spots that show as available when they’re not, or places that look amazing on the app but turn out to be more rustic than expected. One place had us parked next to a pond full of very vocal frogs. Romantic? Not quite.
My husband and I hit the road nearly every weekend from April through September. We like to explore new areas we’ve never been, especially those random little Florida towns you can't pronounce. We always enjoy chatting with new hosts and trying whatever local thing they’ve got going on.
Despite a few hiccups, the whole Harvest Host system makes it easy to line up cool stops and meet good people. Seriously, it’s like Airbnb but with cows and fewer shower options. We LOVE it.
